Our Story…
Back in 2013 Nick Volk began the search for locally sourced affordable screen printing. His band was ready for their first run of merch but didn’t have a ton of money to get things rolling. He quickly learned there wasn’t much help for someone who wanted to print 25 single color t-shirts locally and cheap. So—he went online and bought a press. The early days were just a single color press and a cold basement.
Then in 2018, Nick and Molly Korman met while teaching high school in Baltimore County MD. It didn’t take long for the wheels to start turning. Turns out, Molly was notorious for collecting free event/club tees because she just really loved t-shirts. A short 11 months later they walked out from their careers in education and Old Eastern Ink Shop was born!
After several years of honing their skills, building community relationships, and cramming thousands of items into a tiny basement, Nick and Molly knew it was time to expand. In 2023, they moved to a warehouse in northern Baltimore County and installed their brand new Anatol automatic press. During construction, the pair snuck off to Costa Rica to share a secret wedding. Then it was off to the races to dial in all of the technical specs of the new press. In March of 2024, they had the opportunity to move to a phenomenal location in Timonium, MD. Moving a screen printing shop is no small undertaking; but with the help from some incredible friends they made it happen. Now, you can find Old Eastern Ink Shop in the back of the Earth Treks building (technically Movement if you’re new around here). It’s a prime location right off the 695/83 split. If you’re in the area and see an orange Subaru, come in and say hi!
Old Eastern Ink Shop is all about our local community. There are a lot of places where you can print shirts, but we found that there are very few who keep their local community in mind. Big or small, we want to help you grow!
